We’re less than 5 days from the 2009 NFL regular season and our writers are give us their NFL picks for divisional champs.

AFC East
Odds to Win AFC East
New England Patriots 4/19
New York Jets 8/1
Buffalo Bills 9/1
Miami Dolphins 8/1

Bill McTavish – The Patriots should runaway with the AFC East. If Tom Brady is healthy for the year there won’t be a team that will challenge them.

Ethan Cade – Agreed, this is the Pats title to lose. I wouldn’t lay the chalk on this one though, one bad hit on Brady and this becomes Brian Hoyer’s team and Brian Hoyer is no Tom Brady.

Delroy Jones – Hoyer was a 56% passer at Michigan State with a +12 TD Interception ratio. Not the guy you want holding the keys to your Lamborghini but are we to doubt Bill Belichick?

AFC North
Odds to Win AFC North
Pittsburgh Steelers 2/5
Baltimore Ravens 3/1
Cincinnati Bengals 9/1
Cleveland Browns 12/1

Bill McTavish – Don’t be surprised if the Steelers are even stronger this year. The defense will shine and Pittsburgh wins the AFC North.

Ethan Cade – I hate agreeing with you but there isn’t much doubt about the AFC North.

Delroy Jones – I’m going against the grain here, I’ll take the Ravens and make a bold prediction that Joe Flacco has a Pro-Bowl worthy season, he won’t make it but it will be worthy.

AFC South
Odds to Win AFC South
Indianapolis Colts 7/5
Tennessee Titans 5/2
Houston Texans 7/2
Jacksonville Jaguars 4/1

Bill McTavish – I like the Titans to take the AFC South, the Colts will still take a Wildcard spot but I like the running back duo of Chris Brown and LenDale White, also look for Rookie Javon Ringer to put some nice stats on the board as the 3rd RB.

Ethan Cade – I hear LenDale lost 30 pounds by giving up tequila, Bill, how much weight would you lose if you gave up Gin. I’m guessing at least 40. (Editor’s note: Ethan’s a dick) The Colts win the South; I think the loss of Albert Haynesworth will be too much for the Titans to overcome on the defense. They won last year with a brutal run defense can Haynesworth was the reason for that.

Delroy Jones – The Colts return to top spot in the AFC South, expect a huge year from Anthony Gonzalez and rookie Donald Brown.

Bill McTavish – I think the question here should be how many games are the Chargers going to win the Division by and I’m going to say 6.

Ethan Cade – The rest of the west is horrible; the Chargers will be the only team above .500 and with boldness, I’m predicting the Chargers go 6-0 vs. the AFC West.

Delroy Jones – Bold and the sun will come up tomorrow, Chargers 13-3 Book it.
