Week 5 Early Game Wrap Up

Panthers CheerMinnesota Vikings 38 – St. Louis Rams 10

Adrian Peterson scored twice and Jared Allen returned a fumble 52 yards as the Vikings cruised to an easy victory 38-10 over the hapless Rams. The Vikings remain a perfect 5-0 and the Rams dropped to 0-5 on the season. The Vikings easily covered the 10 point spread.

Cincinnati Bengals 17 – Baltimore Ravens 14

In a tough AFC North Battle, the Bengals pulled out another last minute victory as Andre Caldwell scored the game winning touchdown with 22 seconds left on the clock. The victory gives the Bengals the lead in the division. This is the 3rd final minute victory for Cincinnati this year. The underdog Bengals paid +350 on the moneyline.

Cleveland Browns 6 – Buffalo Bills 3

In a game that lacked excitement, the Browns capitalized on a muffed punt return by Lance Parrish to score a late field goal. Despite the victory, the Browns first, Cleveland’s quarterback situation looks grim as Derek Anderson competed only 2 passes for a total of 23 yards. The underdog Browns paid out +210 on the moneyline.

Washington Redskins 17 – Carolina Panthers 20

Clinton Portis scored twice but also gave up a safety as the Carolina Panthers scored 18 unanswered points in the second half to beat the Washington Redskins for their first victory of the year. Despite their winless record the Panthers came into this game as 5 point favorites. Carolina failed to cover the spread.

Pittsburgh Steelers 28 – Detroit Lions 20

The Steelers sacked Duante Culpepper 7 times as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Detroit Lions 28-20. The Lions never gave in and their touchdown with 4:57 remaining kept Pittsburgh from covering the 10½ point spread.

Dallas Cowboys 26 – Kansas City Chiefs 20

The Cowboys Miles Austin had a career day with 250 receiving yards including a go ahead TD with 2:16 left. Matt Cassel found Dwayne Bowe with 16 seconds left on the clock to send the game into overtime but they couldn’t stop Austin, Tony Romo found Austin 6 minutes into overtime for a 60 yard game winner. A point to remember, in the NFL if a team scores a TD in OT they don’t kick the point after, the reason I bring this up is if you had the Chiefs at +7 you win your bet by the skin of your teeth.

Oakland Raiders 7 – NY Giants 44

If this is what the rest of the season looks like for the Raiders, Head Coach Tom Cable might call the cops on himself because prison couldn’t be any less pleasant than watching the Raiders play. Eli Manning left the game after the Giants had the win locked up; he left in the second quarter of New York’s 44-7 victory. The Giants easily covered the 15 point spread.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14 – Philadelphia Eagles 33

Donovan McNabb was back on the field this week after healing a broken rib. McNabb looked fine as he picked apart the Bucs defense, tossing 264 yards and 3 TDs. The only bright spot for the Bucs was Kellen Winslow Jr. who had 102 receiving yards and 2 TDs. Philly covered the 15½ point spread.
