Week 13 NFL Free Picks

geniusNew York Jets -3 (-120)
Total 37
Buffalo Bills +3 (EVEN)

These two New York Teams travel to Southern Ontario to play in front of the Canadian fans. It will be nice for the Canadian fans to watch some football because it’s been several years since the Toronto Argos were last in a game. The Bills ball hawk defense will get a chance to pad their stats against Mark Sanchez and the Jets.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Buffalo

Denver Broncos -5
Total 38
Kansas City Chiefs +5
Kansas City in December used to mean a sure loss for opponents but this is a new regime and they are throwing out the old Chiefs traditions, like winning. Denver looked like they were done for the season but they showed an incredible resiliency last week and they should beat the Chiefs by a Touchdown.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Denver

Oakland Raiders +14½
Total
Pittsburgh Steelers -14½
Pittsburgh is still unsure whether starting QB Ben Roethlisberger can go in this one but Dennis Dixon showed last week versus the Ravens that he’s almost ready for primetime. The Raiders have beaten the Eagles and the Bengals and with the Steelers recent losing, including a loss to the Chiefs I think 14½ points is too many at this point.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Oakland

Houston Texans -1
Total 46½
Jacksonville Jaguars +1
Houston’s heartbreak tour continues as they travel to Jacksonville to battle their divisional rival the Jaguars. I predicted before the season started that this was Gary Kubiak’s last chance to turn the Texans into a winner and I think Sunday’s game against the Jags will be the dagger in his coaching future in Houston.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Jacksonville

Tennessee Titans +7 (-120)
Total 47
Indianapolis Colts -7 (EVEN)
Before the started this was supposed to be an important game on the schedule, it still is but for completely different reasons. The Titans are trying to become the first team to start 0-6 and still make the playoffs. The Colts are trying to maintain their perfect record. Both can’t happen and while Vince Young and Chris Johnson have been incredible for the Titans, I’m going with the veteran Manning to pull the win. It will be close though.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Tennessee

Philadelphia Eagles -5½
Total 44
Atlanta Falcons +5½
Who Let the Dogs Out, Woof Woof. Michael Vick returns to Atlanta. The Eagles are without Brian Westbrook and likely without DeSean Jackson. Jackson has been explosive offensively for Philadelphia. The Falcons aren’t without their own injuries as Michael Turner will be less than 100% if he plays and the same goes for Matt Ryan. Philly still has McNabb and their defense is far above Atlanta right now. I would look at the under and take Philadelphia.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Philadelphia

Detroit Lions +13
Total 42
Cincinnati Bengals -13
The Bengals are a much better team than the Lions but against a worse team, the Bengals weren’t able to cover the spread against the Browns. If Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson are 100% they will force the Bengals to turn this one into a shootout. I wouldn’t pick a side in this one but the Total of 42 should be an easy over if the Lions studs are a go.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Over

New Orleans Saints -9½
Total 47½
Washington Redskins +9½
The line seems low considering the beating the Saints laid on the Patriots this past Monday. The Redskins offense can’t keep up to New Orleans, really no offense can keep up with New Orleans this season.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: New Orleans

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6
Total 40½
Carolina Panthers -6
This is another game I really don’t want to make a commitment to either team. If you can shop around and find the Bucs at +7 I would encourage you to take it. Anything else is too much of a gamble.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: No Play

St. Louis Rams +9
Total 41
Chicago Bears -9
The Bears are awful but are far better than the Rams, a touchdown and a field goal seems about right for the Bears to beat the Rams. Cutler should have a big day against a very poor defense.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Chicago

New England Patriots -4
Total 46
Miami Dolphins +4
Bill Belichick played his started only 55 minutes against the Saints. I think he’ll play them the entire 60 against the Dolphins. Miami’s should be able to put some points on the board against the mediocre Pats D. The Patriots and the Over look nice in the one.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: New England

San Diego Chargers -13 (-115)
Total 43
Cleveland Browns +13 (-105)
The Browns have kept the last couple of games closer than most would have expected but San Diego is playing with a killer attitude that should strike fear into the hole where Brady Quinn’s heart is supposed to be. Look for at least one SD defensive TD in this one.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: San Diego

San Francisco 49ers -1
Total 41½
Seattle Seahawks +1
Both teams are coming off big wins last week but the Seahawks have been far more inconsistent than the 49ers this year. The 49ers take this game by more than a TD.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: San Francisco

Dallas Cowboys -1½ (-120)
Total 45
New York Giants +1½ (EVEN)
The Cowboys can pretty much eliminate the Giants from contention in the NFC East with a win. This will come down to Tony Romo and his ability or rather inability to perform in big games. I need to see it before I can bet on it.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: New York Giants

Minnesota Vikings -5
Total 48
Arizona Cardinals +5
In a battle of old man quarterbacks, I’m going to take Brett Favre over Kurt Warner. The Vikings defense has been so good that Favre himself admitted he’s not forcing things on 3rd down because he knows the defense will get him the ball back.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Minnesota

Baltimore Ravens +3 (EVEN)
Total 43½
Green Bay Packers -3 (-120)
I like Green Bay but they have been giving up too many sacks all season long and against the Ravens that is a recipe for disaster.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Baltimore
