Week 12 Free NFL Picks

Pats cheerIndianapolis Colts -3½ (-115)
Total 47½
Houston Texans +3½ (-105)
The Texans have had back-to-back heart breakers and they have a chance to get redemption for the first loss of that back to back. The Colts defense is banged up but they come together in the Red Zone forcing opponents to kick field goals instead of touchdowns. You can’t beat the Colts scoring field goals. The Texans have only beaten the Colts once in their history and I’m going with history this time.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Colts

Cleveland Browns +14
Total 39
Cincinnati Bengals -14
The Browns put up some points last week but they still lost, the Bengals had the inevitable let down game last week in Oakland. This week the Bengals will be playing at home against the worst team in the NFL. Look for Carson Palmer to throw early and throw often to force the Brady Quinn to replicate his career game from last week. I doubt Quinn has it in him.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Bengals

Washington Redskins +9 (-105)
Total 40½
Philadelphia Eagles -9 (-115)
This is the second game between the Eagles and Redskins. The Eagles have too many playmakers on offense for the Redskins to compete. Look at LeSean McCoy, he is the first player the Eagles have that is capable of replacing Brian Westbrook; he can run, he can catch and he can get you the tough yards. The Redskins defense is a top 5 D but their efforts are wasted because the offense is so bad. The only way I see the Skins covering is if the defense starts scoring touchdowns.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Eagles

Miami Dolphins -3½
Total 40
Buffalo Bills +3½
Ricky Williams had three TDs last week, and he’s responded well to being the man once again in Miami. The Dolphins started 0-3 but they have gone 5-2 over the past seven. I like them to keep the winning going. Buffalo has let their QBs be sacked 53 times so far and because of that, the QBs have been forced to make bad throws and bad throws lead to interceptions. Joey Porter and the rest of the Dolphins are going to eat Ryan Fitzpatrick for lunch.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Dolphins

Seattle Seahawks -3 (-120)
Total 42½
St. Louis Rams +3 (EVEN)
In what used to be the battle of the NFC West has become a battle of respectability. Boller will be leading the Rams against Seattle. Steven Jackson has been incredible this year, it’s a shame it’s been a wasted year in terms of wins. Seattle has given up on the season as we can see by the effort they put forward each week. I like the Rams in this one, dare I say it even on the Moneyline.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Rams on the Moneyline

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +13 (-120)
Total 46
Atlanta Falcons -13 (EVEN)
The Falcons Matt Ryan has been a bit of a letdown during the Falcons losses, he had been relying too much on Tony Gonzalez, when the defenses started to take T-Gonz away Ryan wasn’t able to find another option. Ryan made some progress last week and the Bucs are the perfect next step. The Bucs defense has been in disarray this season after coach Morris fired his coordinator so this game will come down to whether Josh Freeman can put as many points on the board as Matt Ryan.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Falcons

Carolina Panthers +3
Total 41½
New York Jets -3
Both teams have issues; Mark Sanchez has been succumbing to the pressures of being a starting rookie quarterback. We all know the Panthers QB issue. Both teams are going to rely on the run, DeAngelo Williams was banged up last week but he will be better this week. I think the run games are a push so the key to victory will be whose QB plays best and right now; I like Jake Delhomme to outperform Mark Sanchez.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Panthers

Jacksonville Jaguars +3½ (-120)
Total 41½
San Francisco 49ers -3½ (EVEN)
Jacksonville has quietly moved into a wildcard spot. David Garrard and Mike Sims-Walker have found some chemistry and its forced opposing defenses to respect the pass, leaving room for Maurice Jones-Drew to run more freely. The 49ers need to make some changes on the offense, right now Alex Smith has consistently found Vernon Davis but he needs other options. Frank Gore is a great running back and he will cause trouble for the Jags.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: I like the Over in this game more than either spread.

Kansas City Chiefs +14 (-115)
Total 45
San Diego Chargers -14 (-105)
The Chargers are winners of 5 straight and the last 3 have come against good teams. The run has opened up, with over 200 yards last week. This will open things up for Phillip Rivers. The Chiefs beat the Steelers last week but it was more about what the Steelers didn’t do and not what the Chiefs did do. It was a nice win but they won’t beat the Chargers this week. They could keep it within two touchdowns though.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Chiefs

Chicago Bears +11 (-105)
Total 47
Minnesota Vikings -11 (-115)
The Vikings are arguably the best team in the NFL right now. Brett Favre is playing like an MVP only throwing 3 INTs this season. That’s important because he is protecting the ball and handling the blitz better than any other time in his career; this will be important against the Bears. Jay Cutler has been erratic to say the least, when he’s pressured he makes bad passes. Jared Allen of the Vikings will give Cutler fits.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Vikings

Arizona Cardinals +3 (-115)
Total 46
Tennessee Titans -3 (-105)
The Titans are a 4-6 team but they have won 4 straight and are playing as if they could beat anyone in the NFL. The Cardinals are perfect on the road. This is the game I’m most excited to see in week 12.
Vince Young as a running threat has really opened up the defense for Chris Johnson and when Johnson has room to run he’s the best in the NFL. The Cards have found the run and it’s working which opens things up for Fitzgerald and Boldin. I’m not ready to bet against either of these teams but
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: Arizona

Pittsburgh Steelers
Total NO LINE AT PRESS TIME
Baltimore Ravens
Big Ben is questionable so the books don’t have a line for this one.

New England Patriots +3 (-135)
Total 56
New Orleans Saints -3 (+115)
Brady vs. Brees will be the best show of week 12 and perhaps the best game of the season. Both teams can score with ease. The concerns I see for the Saints are the corners are a little banged up and that can be dangerous against the Patriots. The other concern is the Saints have consistently given up over 100 yards rushing, the offense has made this a non-issue but against the Pats, it will be a big deal as New England has the guns to make them pay.
Sportsbook Veteran NFL Free Pick: New England
