Week 10 NFL Power Rankings
1. New Orleans Saints 8-0-0 They never trailed in their first 5 games, in the past three they’ve come back from an average 20 point deficit. They’ll hold the number one spot until they lose.
2. Indianapolis Colts 8-0-0 The Colts have won blowouts, the Colts have won close games. The bottom line is they’ve won all of them. The Pats are up next.
3. Minnesota Vikings 7-1-0 The Vikings widened their lead during the bye week as both the Packers and Bears lost. It also gave Favre a chance to rest his groin.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers 6-2-0 The Steelers are looking like Super Bowl Champs after a big Monday night win in Denver.
5. New England Patriots 6-2-0 The Colts are up next, let the hype begin.
6. Denver Broncos 6-2-0 Josh McDaniel needs to figure out how to win after a loss.
7. Cincinnati Bengals 6-2-0 A win over the Steelers will put the Bengals in the driver’s seat in the ACF North having swept their 2 games against the Ravens.
8. Dallas Cowboys 6-2-0 4 straight has Dallas fans looking forward to a playoff game in Jerry’s World. The NFC East will be a battle til the end.
9. Philadelphia Eagles 5-3-0 Would you have kicked the FG or continued the drive? Yeah me too, of course, we’re not NFL head coaches.
10. Atlanta Falcons 5-3-0 Michael Turner is starting to turn in on, good news for the Falcons, bad news for opposing defenses.
11. San Diego Chargers 5-3-0 Phillip Rivers finally stuck it to the Giants for the 2004 draft trade. They are within reach of the AFC West lead.
12. Arizona Cardinals 5-3-0 Kurt Warner has the consistency of a pendulum, 5 INTs last week, 5 TD passes this week. 4-0 on the road is nothing to sneeze at.
13. New York Giants 5-4-0 Losers of 4 straight. The Giants are historically bad in November during the Tom Coughlin era. Plenty of time to turn it around, remember 2007?
14. Baltimore Ravens 4-4-0 The Ravens took another step back against the Bengals. 8-8 won’t get it done in a division with the Cincy and Pitt.
15. Miami Dolphins 3-5-0 Their perfect record against the AFC east came to an end. Things are back to normal in the east.
16. Houston Texans 5-4-0 They kept it close against Indy but still fell short, the defense is solid, the offense has been great, that only leaves one thing to blame the loss on, sorry Mr. Kubiak.
17. San Francisco 49ers 3-5-0 They are quickly becoming the most frustrating team in the NFL.
18. Chicago Bears 4-4-0 Jay Cutler isn’t earning the 30 million the extension the Bears gave him.
19. Green Bay Packers 4-4-0 If I’m Aaron Rodgers, I think I might consider the Last Boy Scout technique for defending myself. The offensive line isn’t doing anything to help.
20. New York Jets 4-4-0 How many hotdogs did Mark Sanchez eat during the bye week.
21. Jacksonville Jaguars 4-4-0 A nice win over the Bills puts them back at .500, the division title is out of reach but there are plenty of moral victories left to be had for the young Jags.
22. Carolina Panthers 3-5-0 They kept the Saints from scoring a TD in the first half. More than any other team can say this season. They are play well, expect them to finish the season in the top half of the rankings.
23. Buffalo Bills 3-5-0 I wonder if they learned how to huddle up during the bye week.
24. Seattle Seahawks 3-5-0 At this point of the season every Seahawks game is a must win game.
25. Tennessee Titans 2-6-0 Chris Johnson is playing like a beast, we wrote that last week, something tells me I’ll write it again next week.
26. Oakland Raiders 2-6-0 The bye week meant more media focus on Tom Cable’s transgressions, when will Roger Goodell take notice.
27. Washington Redskins 2-6-0 Jason Campell is a trooper, he hasn’t given up, even though the rest of the team has.
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-7-0 Tampa Wins for the first time this season. Josh Freeman looks like a keeper.
29. Kansas City Chiefs 1-7-0 As predicted Larry Johnson was cut by the Chiefs. Such an amazing talent wasted.
30. St. Louis Rams 1-7-0 They had an extra week to savor their only win. The Saints come to town this week to knock the good taste out of their mouths.
31. Detroit Lions 1-7-0 Matt Stafford returned and looked good early but the defense looked bad late. Another game another loss.
32. Cleveland Browns 1-7-0 The Browns looked great this week.
