UFC 117 – Dos Santos and Guida Win
UFC 117 – Guida breaks dos Anjos Jaw
Clay Guida was on the verge of becoming a UFC gatekeeper, a fighter that puts on a good show but is their just to test the new fighters. He changed to Greg Jackson’s team in New Mexico and the results were obvious last night.
In another fight that pitted wrester against Brazilian Ju-Jitsu artist, like most of the night the wrestler overcame. Guida used his motor to move in and out and take Dos Anjos down, throw some punches and just full-on paced his opponent.
Guida caught Dos Anjos with a hard right hand that broke his opponents jaw. Dos Anjos fought through it but in the third he came out tentatively. The fight came to an end when Guida had Dos Anjos against the fence and put his shoulder on the broken Jaw, Dos Anjos tapped and Guida picked up the victory.

Big Country Loses Fight Earns Respect
Roy “Big Country” Nelson doesn’t look like a fighter, I should say he doesn’t look like a mix martial artist because there are plenty of country and biker bars where Roy Nelson would look like a fighter. Last night Junior Dos Santos threw everything he had at him and Nelson wouldn’t go down.
“Man, this guy’s tough; incredible,” Dos Santos said following the bout. “He trained a lot to be here, but I trained so much too. This victory makes me happy.”
The fight earned Dos Santos a title shot against the winner of the Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez fight at UFC 121. Although his inability to put away Big Country leaves doubts in UFC bettors minds whether he can match up against Cain or Brock who both look unbeatable.
