February 7, the New Orleans Saints will bring the Who Dat? Nation to Miami as where they will take on Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. The current line has the Colts favored by -5 points, it has been as high as -7 and as low as -4. The total is set at 56½ points.

The Saints have been a great story, the city of New Orleans needs a win to lift their spirits, Archie Manning is torn, Dwight Freeney’s ankle is in bad shape etc. etc. There are so many storylines that go along with the Super Bowl but the only story that matters is the story the led us to this point and how the final chapter will finish. If we know how the story ends, we can make some money.

If we look past all of the filler this week, the story that isn’t getting the talk it should is that Peyton Manning has developed his killer instinct, Michael Jordan had it, Larry Bird had it, and Wayne Gretzky had it. That incredible mix of skill and competitiveness wills a player to a victory. We saw it in the AFC Championship game, with the Colts down 17-6 at half time, Manning came out in the second half and basically said “%&&% this” and led the Colts to 24 unanswered points to win the game.

I like Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams but I don’t see him coming up with the defensive packages to stop Peyton Manning. He may stop him for a quarter or maybe even a half but over 60 minutes but if you give Manning a full 60 he’s going to beat you.
