Super Bowl 44 Odds

Favre

Odds to win Super Bowl XLIV

Indianapolis Colts             6/5

The Colts are big favorites to win the Super Bowl and with good reason. The Colts haven’t lost a game that they were trying to win this season. Yes they did lose their final two games but no one would accuse the Colts of trying to win either game.  The Colts offensive line has put up a firewall around Peyton Manning. The mighty Ravens were only able to sack Manning twice and if you watch the replays Manning went down early for his own safety. That’s a smart player making smart plays. Depending on where you bet on the NFL, the Colts are favored by 7½ or 8 points over the Jets, so shop around.

New Orleans Saints         2/1

The New Orleans Saints destroyed the Arizona Cardinals to make the NFC championship game. Drew Brees has a plethora of offensive weapons at his disposal. Reggie Bush is playing his best football since he was a USC Trojan. But the biggest factor that will affect the chances of the Saints winning the Super Bowl is that their defense is fully healthy for the first time in over a month. The game against the Vikings should be a good one. The bookmakers have the Saints favored by 3½-points.

Minnesota Vikings           17/4

I can’t tell you how many times we’re written the name Brett Favre this season but something tells me we’ll have to write it a few more times. Brett Favre has been fantastic, everything the Vikings hoped he would be when they coaxed him (it didn’t take much) out of retirement. I like the Saints but if this is Brett Favre’s last game and he’ll make us believe it is, he’ll do something spectacular so that we never forget the name Brett Favre.  Ok I’ll tell the boss to add 4 more mentions to the list.

New York Jets                   7/1

The Jets are the long shot to win Super Bowl XLIV. They were a long shot to make the playoffs; they were a long shot to beat the Bengals and the San Diego Chargers. You get the idea.  I still think the Colts are going to win their AFC Title match-up but of course, I thought the Chargers would beat the Jets last weekend. The hook is making me shy away from picking the Colts but I doubt the line will move back to 7 points before Sunday.
