NFL Teams going Over the Predicted Win Total

NFL Teams going Over the Predicted Win Total

Every year in the NFL there are teams that exceed our expectations. Last season the Denver Broncos were predicted to be the worst team in the AFC West but they began the season with a string of six wins. They beat some of the biggest teams in the NFL including the Patriots, the Chargers, the Cowboys and the Bengals.
Let’s have a look at who will be this year’s teams that exceed our expectations.
Ravens – Over 10 Wins -120
The NFL odds makers have set the over/under for the Ravens at 10 wins. I know a team with a predicted 10 wins isn’t surprising anyone but this seems like the easiest bet on the board. Joe Flacco is always learning and improving his game and the additions of Anquan Boldin and Donte Stallworth give him a couple more targets to join veteran Derrick Mason. The running game is the strength of the offense with Ray Rice and Willis McGahee moving the ball and Le’Ron McClain pounding in on the goal line. The offense will win games, which will take the ease off the still dominant defense.
Dolphins – Over 8½ Wins -115
The Dolphins are the forgotten team in the AFC East behind the New England Patriots and the New York Jets but Bill Parcels’ team isn’t one to be slept on. The offensive line is strong with Jake Long doing the heavy lifting. Rickey Williams is ready to go and Ronnie Brown will be back running the back like mad men. The running game will have an easier time of it this season as the Dolphins added former Broncos number one receiver Brandon Marshall. The addition of Marshall will give Chad Henne a solid deep threat when their opponents try to stuff the box.  If they don’t go over it means they are an 8-8 team and this team is too good to be an 8-8 team.
49ers – Over 8½ Wins -170
The 49ers are the team nobody is sleeping on, this line opened flat but has moved to -170 for the over. It’s a lot of Juice but the NFC West is so week, the 49ers should run away with it. In addition the 49ers have the easiest schedule in the NFL.  It will be interesting to see how Brian Westbrook performs this season, he’s suffered some concussion and countless injuries but he won’t be asked to carry the team with Frank Gore on the team. The rookies on the offensive line will make things easier for the entire offense.
