NFL Free Picks Week 5

Pittsburgh at Detroit (+10.5)
Detroit is improving every week out. They were able keep it close for 2 quarters against the Bears before getting blown out. This week with Matt Stafford’s status uncertain the Steelers likely won’t let the Lions hang around.
My pick: Pittsburgh
Oakland at New York Giants (-15.5)
Both teams might be without a starting quarterback. Eli Manning’s heel is hurting but the Giants might resort to using David Carr against the Raiders. I know what you’re thinking the Raiders will have JaMarcus Russell start in New York but he can hardly be considered a starting quarterback.
My pick: New York Giants
Cleveland at Buffalo (-6)
A once proud franchise flounders in abysmal medocrity. OK once proud franchises flounder in abysmal mediocrity.
My pick: Cleveland
Dallas at Kansas City (+8)
Tony Romo and the Cowboys were victims of the Denver Bronco who are surprise team of the AFC West. Lucky for Dallas, there are no surprises in KC. There is also no offense, no defense, no blocking, no tackling…
My pick: Dallas
Minnesota at St. Louis (+10)
Last week St. Louis the 49ers crushed the Rams 35-0. This week Rush Limbaugh announced he wants to buy the Rams. They say bad things come in threes so I’m taking Minnesota for the max.
My pick: Minnesota
Cincinnati at Baltimore (-8.5)
Baltimore lost a close one to the Patriots; Cincinnati lost a close on to the Browns. Advantage Baltimore.
My pick: Baltimore
Washington at Carolina (-4)
Carolina has had a week to regroup from that dreadful 0-3 start; Washington’s offense won’t be able to match Carolina in this one.
My pick: Carolina
Tampa Bay at Philadelphia (-15.5)
Philly only needs 2 touchdowns and a field goal cover the spread. Don’t expect Tampa to do much against the Eagles defense.
My pick: Philadelphia
Atlanta at San Francisco (-2.5)
Mike Singletary has things clicking in San Francisco. Except for a Favre miracle pass, this team would be 4-0. Atlanta won’t be able to get their offense moving this week.
My pick: San Francisco
Jacksonville at Seattle (PK)
Seattle has too many injuries or players listed as questionable to put my money on.
My pick: Jacksonville
Houston at Arizona (-5.5)
Houston is the perfect opponent for the Cardinals to kick start their offense and with Houston’s offense, clicking this one looks like it will be whoever scores last. I’m picking the Cardinals to score last.
My pick: Arizona
New England at Denver (+3)
The student meets the teacher as Josh McDaniel’s Broncos face Bill Belichick’s Patriots. McDaniel’s knows the Patriots offense inside and out, which gives the Broncos an excellent chance of shutting down the Patriots. Bill Belichick loves beating his formers assistants just look at poor Eric Mangini.
My pick: New England
Indianapolis at Tennessee (+3.5)
It’s time to stop kidding ourselves, until now, I kept thinking the Titans will turn it around and give us a dominant performance but really, they don’t have it in them. I will never bet against Peyton Manning in a prime time game.
My pick: Indianapolis
New York Jets at Miami (+1.5)
Mark Sanchez gets his chance to shine on Monday night. The Dolphins were able to run all over the Buffalo Bills but New York’s stingy defense will keep Miami’s offense in check.
My pick: New York Jets
