NBA All Stars and Our Reserve Picks
The NBA All-Star Starters were announced this week and the subs will be announced soon. Let’s have a look at who the starters are and who should fill out the rest of the roster.
East
Guard – Dwyane Wade – No argument here, Wade is a star and he’s having another fantastic season.
Guard – Allen Iverson – You know what this means, we’re going to have to listen to 3 weeks of reporters and so called experts saying how the fans shouldn’t get to vote. I hate those guys but for once I agree with them, AI makes a mockery of the fan voting process.
Forward – LeBron James – To quote Randy Jackson 100 million percent YES!
Forward – Kevin Garnett – Garnett was injured for a large part of the season but he’s passable Bosh should have the start here though.
Center – Dwight Howard – The best center in the league, always entertaining.
West
Guard – Steve Nash – Nash is still doing it at 36 years of age.
Guard – Kobe Bryant – Assassin, Killer, Black Mamba, you can pencil him into the all star game until he’s retired.
Forward – Carmelo Anthony – Having a great year, I would have voted for Kevin Durant but Melo deserves the spot.
Forward – Tim Duncan – This could be the last one for the Big Fundamental as he begins to show his age.
Center – Amare Stoudemire – Yao didn’t play a game this season of the Chinese fans would have voted him in.
My picks for the reserves
East
Guard – Rajon Rondo – He’s having a great year and doesn’t get the acknowledgement he deserves helping the Celtics big three.
Guard – Joe Johnson – the driving force in ATL pushing them into the upper half of the eastern conference.
Forward – Chris Bosh – Bosh is having his best statistical year ever, he’s leading the Raptors back into the playoffs.
Forward – Gerald Wallace – The Bobcats will have their first All-Star this year.
Center – David Lee – I wanted to pick Brook Lopez but the Nets are horrible and it’s hard to pick an all-star from the last place team
At-Large – Stephen Jackson – Jackson has been on fire since the trade out of GS
At-Large – Shaquille O’Neal – Just because it’s All-Star game and Shaq is a show.
West
Guard – Chris Paul – If he was playing in Houston or New York he would be starting.
Guard – Brandon Roy – Portland is falling apart but Roy keeps it all together.
Forward – Dirk Nowitzki – He’s been a force all year, like every year.
Forward – Kevin Durant – He’s only 21 and he’s keeps getting better, there is no ceiling for this kid.
Center – Chris Kaman – 20ppg, 9RB shooting 50% solid season
At-Large – Zach Randolph – He’s finally earning his contract
At-Large – Deron Williams – Edges out Chauncey and Carlos Boozer.
