The biggest name you’ll recognize on the list is probably one of the biggest men in Major League Baseball, Prince Fielder. The Milwaukee Brewers are in a similar position to the Blue Jays last year were in with Roy Halladay. Fielder’s contract is up at the end of next season but they won’t be able to compete with the big spenders of the MLB to resign him after 2011.

Trading him now would should bring back the most from perspective buyers because it allows them this season and next season with Fielders skills and more importantly exclusive negotiating rights until the end of the 2011 season.

Roy Oswalt is likely the next player in terms of big name value but it’s doubtful we’ll see Oswalt playing elsewhere this season.

The surprise buy team is the Padres as they were expected to be on the outside looking in at the NL West but their hot pitchers have them in contention. They are looking for a big bat and while Prince Fielder might be a little pricey, Corey Hart or Jorge Cantu could fit the bill.
