Betting Rules to Live By

Hot Teacher Gambling is all about making money, if you gamble and you win you make money, if you lose the sportsbook make money. I’m going to give you a few gambling rules to live by. I’ve collected these from the best gamblers I’ve know over my years in the business.

Don’t Bet Just to Make a Bet – If you are bored, watch the Office, surf the web or go for a run but under any circumstance don’t bet a game just because you feel like a little action.

Do Your Homework – have you check the teams ATS record? Have you checked their home or away stats? Have you looked at the injury report? Remember to check the game trends sheets that most sportsbooks provide before placing you bet.

Don’t Bet Cricket if you don’t Know Cricket – Only bet on sports you know and love. Just because you got a hot tip about a Korean baseball game, it doesn’t mean you should bet it. Unless you know the sport, don’t bet on it.

Don’t Chase Your Losses – losing in inevitable, the best gamblers only win about 56-57% of their wagers. If you have a bad run and get in a hole, allow yourself sometime to dig your way out. I’ve seen too many gamblers try to win all their money back in one or two bets and they end up screwing themselves and create a hole that’s often too deep to find their way out.

If You Can’t Afford It, Don’t Buy It – Never bet with money you can’t afford to lose. We all want to have fun and make some money but that fun quickly disappears when you realize you can’t pay your rent because the Celtics failed to cover the spread.

Take a Day Off – Most professional gamblers bet everyday but I’m willing to guess if you’re reading my list, you’re not a professional. Remember, sports betting is recreational so don’t forget to enjoy what’s important in your life.

Don’t Be a Fan – I’ve made a rule, I won’t bet on the Toronto Raptors unless I absolutely know they are going to cover the spread. Before I had that rule I would be on them blindly, and like a daughter that marries a hippie, they were a constant disappointed.

It’s Not the House’s Money its Your Money – It drives me crazy when gamblers start betting recklessly when they are playing with profits. Their attitude of “I’m playing with the house’s Money” couldn’t be further from the truth, it’s your money, you won it, respect it. If you keep calling it the house’s money, I can guarantee the House’s Money will find its way home.

These are just a few of many many rules you need to follow to be a moneymaking gambler. Keep checking back as I will do more posts with more tips to make you a better gambler.
