2010 NBA Trade Deadline

AmareNBA Trade Deadline What to Expect
It seems every year there is a ton of hype leading up to the NBA trading deadline but it often ends in a fizzle with a few side deals going through or some bloated contracts trading hands by teams looking for cap relief but this year could be different.
There are a several players who are headed for free agency, including the Big 3 of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dywane Wade and we’ve seen Caron Butler and Josh Howard change teams in a trade between Dallas and Washington. Let’s look at some of players who may or may not be moved on deadline day.

Amare Stoudemire – During All-Star Weekend, there were many rumors that Amare was on his way to the Cavaliers. However, there have been new developments as early as this morning, with the Suns offering a year extension and Miami jumping into the mix. Cleveland should question Amare and Shaq working together again but LeBron get what LeBron wants. Chances of Trade 75%

Tracy McGrady –He says he has more left in the tank but any team picking him up will be taking advantage of his huge expiring contract. The Rockets may just let him go to take him off the books. Chances of a Trade 80%

Andre Iguodala – The 76ers are looking to dump the 4 years and $56 million remaining on his contract. In the tough economic times, the 76ers will have trouble finding a match. Chances of a Trade 20%

Tyrus Thomas – He’s been a frustrating case in Chicago, never reaching his perceived potential. I don’t think he’s reach it elsewhere either. Chances of a Trade 25%

Ray Allen – The Celtics would love to move Ray Allen and to a midseason overhaul on their roster in time for the playoffs. Jesus Shuttleworth’s 18.7 Million dollar contract is attractive but I don’t know if the Celtics will get the young star that they need. Chances of a Trade 40%

Antawn Jamison – Jamison deserves a trade, he is the consummate pro. He comes to work every day grabs rebounds and scores points. Playing for the Wizards must be killing him. Chances of a Trade 100%…please let it be 100%

Michael Beasley – If Amare goes to Miami, Beasley goes to Phoenix. He’s a great player but he needs to get his head right. Miami isn’t the spot for a young man with money and no discipline. Chances of a Trade 40%

Tayshaun Prince – Prince is in a similar situation as Jamison, he deserves better than what he’s playing for right now. Give him a chance to go to a contender. Chances of a trade 30%

Kevin Martin – The price will be high but with Tyreke Evans tearing it up in his rookie season, the Kings can afford to trade Martin who is on pace for his 4th straight 20+ point season. Chances of a trade 25%
